A Delaware man has been found guilty on four counts of gross sexual imposition after a six-day jury trial in Delaware County Common Pleas Court.
The trial of Michael Frederick Grubbs, 50, of 88 Carriage Drive, began on Aug. 25 and a verdict was returned by the jury Tuesday.
Grubbs originally faced four charges of rape, which are first-degree felonies; two counts of gross sexual imposition, third-degree felonies; and two counts of gross sexual imposition, fourth-degree felonies.
Prosecutors said he touched two girls under the age of 10 in a sexual manner.
The jury found Grubbs guilty on the four gross-sexual imposition charges and not guilty on two of the rape charges. The jury could not reach a verdict on the remaining two rape charges.
Judge Everett Krueger ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set a sentencing hearing for Sept. 25.
Grubbs was arrested on Dec. 31 by Delaware police after they responded to a sexual assault report at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Grubbs was in the Delaware County Jail Wednesday awaiting his sentencing.
