Ohio Wesleyan University’s Richard M. Ross Art Museum will welcome acclaimed artist Paul Ching-Bor to campus at 4:10 p.m. Sept. 30 for a gallery talk and tour of his upcoming exhibit “Sur.”

The show will run from Oct. 1 through Nov. 13 at the museum, 60 S. Sandusky St.

Ching-Bor’s work captures the urban scenery of Manhattan’s skyscrapers, street crossings, bridge constructions and harbor facilities, often infused with a dark, desolate aura. His talk will be followed by a free community reception at the museum from 5 to 6 p.m.

The artist states that he is intrigued by using the delicate, romantic medium of watercolor to capture starker, more sinister landscapes. He said he also is influenced by the initial vulnerability and fragility of human life now hardened by time and experience.
