Braves handle Pacers in 3 sets

Nhu Do led the attack with eight kills and Sophie Fritz ran the offense with a game-best 22 assists as the Olentangy girls volleyball team handled host Hayes in three sets for an OCC-Capital Division win Tuesday in Delaware.

The Braves, who improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in league play with the win, took the first set 25-4 before sealing the deal with wins of 25-12 and 25-16.

Sarah Hansel was also solid for Olentangy, finishing with four blocks and four kills, while Zoe Miller had a game-high 18 digs.

Delaware Christian 3, Granville Christian 0

The Eagles stayed perfect in league play Tuesday, handling Granville Christian 25-11, 25-18, 25-4.

Erin McCullough led Delaware Christian with 11 kills, 18 digs and four aces. Other standouts included Anna Fuller (10 digs, six aces, four kills), Mary Kerins (five aces), Liz Sullivan (eight digs, four kills), Abby Evans (six digs, three kills), Sarah Rosato (four kills) and Brianna Blackburn (23 assists, three aces and three kills).

Also: Galion def. Buckeye Valley 25-13, 25-9, 25-11.

BOYS SOCCER

Wes Blakemore found the back of the net twice, once in each half, to lead Delaware Christian to a 2-1 win over Tree of Life Tuesday afternoon.

GIRLS GOLF

Sophia Zehner carded a 44 to nab medalist honors while the rest of the Pacers more than held their own as Hayes won a tri-match with visiting North Union and Jonathan Alder Tuesday at Oakhaven.

The Pacers, who got contributions from Zehner, C.C. Bargar (45), Bailey Hager (47), Riley Geiger (51), Lauren Kenney (54) and Anna Wells (55), finished with a combined 187 while Jonathan Alder and North Union fired respective rounds of 204 and 213.

Hayes returns to action against Hilliard Davidson Monday at Thorn Apple Country Club.
