Patriots sweep away Eagles

The Liberty girls tennis team picked up a solid non-league win Wednesday in Columbus, sweeping away host Bishop Watterson 5-0.

Patriot winners included Alexia Meyer (6-3, 6-1 at first singles), Lexi Steer (3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at second singles), Sidney Reineke (6-2, 6-2 at third singles), Anna Delaney and Cellini Ko (6-0, 6-0 at first doubles) and Lizzie Radkiewicz and Avivah Wang (6-0, 3-6, 6-4 at second doubles).

VOLLEYBALL

Hayes got a little better each set, but couldn’t keep up with host Kilbourne during Wednesday’s OCC-Capital Division clash in Worthington.

The Pacers lost the first set 15-25 before falling to the Wolves 18-25 and 20-25 in the second and third, respectively, to smooth out the scoring summary.

Julia Kaylor led Hayes with 11 kills, six digs, three aces and an assist. Other standouts included Audrey Hannahs, who had 12 digs and an ace; and Macie Wright, who finished with nine digs in the setback.
