Six men who are accused of stealing goods from several unlocked cars in Delaware have been indicted by a Delaware County grand jury.

The 17-count indictment, issued Friday, is in connection with thefts from cars that occurred this summer.

Delaware Police Captain Adam Moore said that the men knew each other and were part of the same police investigation, but he would not classify them as an organized group.

Moore said the indicted men were discovered when one of them made a purchase with a credit card that had been reported as stolen.

Delaware police said the six men were responsible for at least six incidents — between July 23 and Sept. 2 — in which cars were entered and items were taken. Police said the items stolen range widely in value but included credit cards, identification cards and, in one instance, a gun.

The men indicted are:

• Seth Bowdre, 18, of Waldo, is charged with eight counts of identity fraud, which are fifth-degree felonies; three counts of theft, fifth-degree felonies; burglary, a second-degree felony; three counts of theft (two are third-degree felonies and the other is a fifth-degree felony); and receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony.

• Cory Call, 22, of Delaware, is charged with eight counts of identity fraud, fifth-degree felonies; three counts of theft, fifth-degree felonies; burglary, a second-degree felony; and theft, a third-degree felony.

• Christopher St. Clair, 26, of 291 E. Central Ave., Delaware, is charged with theft, a third-degree felony.

• Nikolas Goodwill, 18, of 24 East St., Delaware, is charged with two counts of theft, fifth-degree felonies.

• Enrico Gati, 19, of Blacklick, Ohio, is charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony.

• Mark Fisher, 18, of Delaware, is charged with four counts of identity fraud, which are fifth-degree felonies.

Moore said more residents may have been victimized by the men, but police would not know because many vehicle break-ins go unreported.

Moore said the indictment covers crimes committed in the city of Delaware but said it’s possible the men could have committed crimes in other jurisdictions.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Bowdre and Call were being held in the Delaware County Jail Friday afternoon. The other men remain at large. Warrants have been issued for their arrests.

Arraignments in Delaware County Common Pleas Court have not been scheduled.
