The GMVWA Holiday Wrestling Tournament podium was a busy place Tuesday … especially for the Pacers.

Five Delaware Hayes standouts made the trip, leading the team to a runner-up finish in Division I thanks to a perfect run through the finals (5-0). The Pacers finished with 150 points while the Shamrocks of Dublin Coffman took top honors in the big-school division with 174.

Greg Brusco, the Pacers’ 152-pound stud, certainly did his part, taking top honors in his weight class by outlasting Clinton-Massie’s Davey Tunon 4-3 in the championship.

Other Hayes standouts included Max Wright (160) and Chris Martinez (195), who each finished third. Wright, who pinned Hartley’s Zach Bowman in 3:42 to nab top-three honors, had seven pins during the two-day event. Martinez, meanwhile, beat Wapakoneta’s Landon Hall 5-2 to earn third-place points.

Zach Williams (106) and Carter Davidson (170) also earned spots on the podium, finishing seventh in their respective weight classes. Williams beat Springfield’s Bryce Davis 7-2 in his final match of the tourney while Davidson handled Glen Este’s Cameron Wilson 9-6.

Orange, which finished 16th in Division I with 67 points, was led by Logan Broskie (152), who finished fourth after falling to Lakota West’s Andrew Acuna by a slim 9-7 margin in his third-place match.
