Hayes’ Brooke Glesenkamp broke records left and right — two meet marks and one pool record — to lead the Hayes girls swimming and diving team to a runner-up showing during Saturday’s Delaware Invitational at OWU’s Meek Aquatics Center.

Glesenkamp, who won the 50 and 100 freestyles in respective meet-record times of 24.41 and 53.57 seconds, was named Performer of the Meet for her efforts. Her time in the 100 also broke a pool record.

The Pacers, who won a combined four events, finished second with 393 points. Bishop Watterson won with 447 while Hilliard Davidson smoothed out the top three with 314.

In addition to Glesenkamp’s pair of individual event wins, Hayes picked up first-place points in a pair of relays. The Pacers won the 200 freestyle (Kristen Puthoff, Marisa Sulek, Danielle Ward and Glesenkamp) and 400 freestyle (Puthoff, Valerie Keller, Ward and Glesenkamp) relays in times of 1:43.36 and 3:49.42, respectively.

Runner-up showings belonged to Puthoff in the 200 free (2:01.88), Ward in the 200 IM (2:20.87) and Helen Thomson in the 1-meter diving event (142.40).

Buckeye Valley’s Colleen Jaycox was also steady, finishing second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.21). The Barons finished 10th among the 12-team field with 29 points.

In boys’ action, Hayes finished third with 325 points. Hilliard Davidson and Westerville South claimed the top two spots with respective scores of 431 and 343.

Noah Planisek and Craig Klumpp led the Pacers with third-place showings in their signature events. Planisek finished third in the 100 free (53.50 seconds) while Klumpp nabbed top-three honors in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.05). The duo also participated in the 200 freestyle relay, teaming up with Thomas Blackwood and Remington Curtin to finish third with an effort of 1:36.83.

Hayes had a strong showing in the 400 freestyle relay, too, as Curtin, Adryan Rojas, Kael Gannon and Planisek combined to finish second in 3:34.48.
