Tickets on sale for ‘Orange’ author’s lecture

Tickets are still on sale for a lecture by “Orange is the New Black” author Piper Kerman at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The lecture, sponsored by Friends of the Delaware County District Library, will be on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in Gray Chapel at OWU.

Kerman, author of “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison,” will give a 45-minute lecture on her memoir about the 13 months she spent in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut.

Following the lecture, Kerman will take questions from the audience for 15 minutes and be available for book signings afterward.

Premium tickets are $35. This ticket includes priority seating at the lecture, priority book signing and an author photo opportunity with your cellphone.

General admission tickets are $25. This ticket includes general admission to the lecture and book signing.

Books will be available for purchase at the event, or can be purchased through Fundamentals Bookstore, 25 W. Winter St. You may call Fundamentals at 740-363-0290 to purchase a book in advance, available for immediate pick-up now or at the event.

Books purchased elsewhere will not be signed at the event, organizers say.

Book sale proceeds benefit Friends of the Delaware County District Library.

“Orange is the New Black” was adapted as a successful television series for Netflix.
