The New Year has brought a new dean to Columbus State Community College’s Delaware campus.

President David Harrison has appointed Stacia Edwards to the position.

Edwards joined Columbus State in 2013 and most recently served as associate vice president of workforce strategy in academic affairs.

In addition to her role in Delaware, she will also oversee the college’s five regional learning centers in Dublin, Westerville, Reynoldsburg, Grove City and the Southwest Center at Bolton Field. Collectively, Columbus State serves more than 25,000 students.

At Columbus State, Edwards has helped align workforce outreach efforts with academic planning and has been instrumental in career counseling and helping implement a number of Straight A grants. “Stacia will be a strong advocate for the Delaware campus and the regional learning centers both in the community and throughout the college,” said Harrison. “She’s a great partner for academic and student affairs as we expand our service to students.”

Edwards joined Columbus State from Battelle where she was vice president of BattelleEd and director of STEM workforce initiatives. Her Ohio higher education experience includes serving as the deputy chancellor for economic advancement for the Ohio Board of Regents and leadership positions at Sinclair Community College and Wright State University.

The Delaware dean is responsible for providing leadership for the campus, strategic planning, overseeing a multi-million dollar budget and developing external relationships in the community.

Edwards received a bachelor of arts from Hanover College in Indiana, a master of arts from Indiana University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
