The OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County has awarded its second annual scholarship to Mohammed Dweik.
Dweik is a 2015 graduate of Olentangy Orange High School and resides in Lewis Center. At Olentangy Orange, he was on the varsity ice hockey team and received the best goal-tender award. He also played in the marching band.
Dweik is currently attending Ohio State University’s Marion campus and is studying mechanical engineering.
“Mohammad is our second scholarship recipient” said Joyce Perry, scholarship chair. “We are delighted that the club can fulfill our goal of helping students from Delaware County with scholarships.”
Dweik is oldest of four children in his family. He also holds a part-time job at the Chiller ice rink. “I am so grateful to the Delaware Alumni Club for this scholarship,” he said. “It will help me and my family to pay my tuition this semester.”
A presentation of the $1,200 scholarship award and reception was held in early December so the funds would be available for use this spring semester.
Individuals or businesses interested in making a tax-deductible gift to the club’s scholarship endowment fund should email the club at [email protected].
