A pep rally in support of the Olentangy Local Schools’ March 15 tax issue will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Liberty High School.
The rally is sponsored by the athletic booster organizations of Olentangy’s three high schools.
The school district has a bond issue and two additional tax levies on the ballot. The 1.3-mill, 35-year bond is for construction of a new high school; a 1.0-mill permanent levy is for improvements for a continuing period of time; and a 5.9-mill operating levy is for current expenses for a continuing period of time. The district said the issue, if approved, will cost an additional $241.50 a year per $100,000 of home valuation.
The Olentangy For Kids organization will attend to answer questions about the tax issue.
Also attending will be school mascots, cheerleaders and athletes.
Live music will be provided by the Crow Band, featuring Olentangy High School seniors Wes Crow, Julia Crow and Nick Weber.
