Big Walnut School District officials say an investigation into a bomb threat at Big Walnut High School is continuing.

Officials said they did not have any new information Tuesday afternoon about the threatening note found in a bathroom Monday that mentioned several bombs.

Officials from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that they were assisting Sunbury police after they were notified at about 1:30 p.m. that a bomb threat had been made at Big Walnut High School.

Officials said the threat mentioned several bombs and the parking lot. Superintendent Angie Pollock also said that a note was found at the high school mentioning potential bombs.

Bomb dogs from the Columbus Fire Department were brought in but no explosives were found.

School officials dismissed students early on Monday afternoon. Classes resumed Tuesday.

At 4 p.m. Monday, school officials said the high school had been cleared a second time to allow the fire marshal and police to do a second sweep of the building.

After-school events at the high school and neighboring Big Walnut Intermediate School were canceled for Monday.
