The Big Walnut boys lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season Saturday, hammering host Marysville 13-3.
Sam Funston led the offensive attack with a hat trick while Campbell Allen finished with a pair of goals to go with a game-high four assists.
Zach Chucta, Seth Daniels and Michael Murphy also had a pair of goals apiece while Vaughn Firmalan and Nathan McVeigh each found the back of the net once in the win.
Josh Hageman anchored the Big Walnut (1-3) defense with 11 saves in goal.
The Golden Eagles are slated to return to action Wednesday against visiting Wellington. Action is set to start at 7 p.m.
Buckeye Valley 8, Bowling Green 2
The Barons snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday, rolling past visiting Bowling Green 8-2.
Nathan Heiser finished with a hat trick in the win while Carson James scored twice. Other BV goal scorers included Trent Slavik, Gabe Zimmerly and Hayden Kaiser.
Nick Gerald and Sam Herriott split time in goal. Gerald finished with eight saves while Herriott closed with three.
Next up, Buckeye Valley (2-3) will take on visiting Jonathan Alder Wednesday at 6 p.m.
