Sunbury chamber seeks new director

Members of the Sunbury/Big Walnut Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors recently announced a search for a new chamber executive director.

Current director Deb Jackson has resigned from the position and will leave at the end of the month.

Chamber board president Chauncey Montgomery said Jackson, who had been with the chamber as the executive director for the past 18 months, had helped the chamber through several transitions.

“Deb was instrumental in the move from our old location to our new building on Granville Street, and during her tenure we’ve seen our membership grow,” Montgomery said. “She represented us at a lot of evening meetings and weekend events. The responsibilities of a chamber executive director are a lot to ask of somebody. We’ll miss having Deb on board; we’re sorry to see her moving on. We wish her well in her future endeavors.”

Montgomery said that persons wanting more information about the open position should go to the chamber website at sunburybigwalnutchamber.com, and click on “What’s New.” On the drop-down menu, click “Job Postings.”
