Green Energy Ohio is having its 14th statewide tour of homes, businesses and schools with renewable energy on June 3, 4 and 5.

As part of the tour, and in an effort to promote the new Delaware County Solar Cooperative, five Delaware homes with existing solar panels will conduct a guided tour and open houses, organizers say.

The event is free to the public.

The guided tour will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Fox-Lynd Residence, 1401 Curve Road, Delaware, and then proceed to the four other houses. Each of the homes will also be hosting open houses from 1 to 4 p.m. June 4.

Some of the homes have additional open house times. The full schedule is available at www.greenenergyohio.org/ost.

The Delaware County Solar Cooperative held public information sessions on April 6 and May 10. Since then, more than 65 homes have signed up for the co-op. Anyone can get information or sign up for the co-op at www.ohsun.org/delaware through Aug. 1, organizers say. A third information session will be in late June or early July.

The Delaware solar co-op is organized and facilitated by OHSUN, the Ohio program of the nonprofit Community Power Network.
