The Delaware County Board of Commissioners is seeking to appoint three members to serve on the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities. These appointed individuals must be residents of Delaware County and citizens of the United States, and must be interested and knowledgeable in the field of developmental disabilities and related fields. Individuals and family members of individuals receiving services from the Board are encouraged to apply.
Individuals who have professional training and experience in business management, finance, law, health care practice, personnel administration, or government service also are encouraged to apply.
The Commissioners are seeking to appoint three citizen members for four-year terms each. All terms will begin at the Board’s annual organizational meeting in January 2017 and end on Dec. 31, 2020.
The Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities consists of seven members. The duties of a board member are defined as:
Develop and approve the policies of the Board for the operation of programs, services, and supports;
Become familiar with issues affecting individuals who are developmentally disabled; Plan and set priorities based on available funds for the provision of programs and services; Employ and supervise a qualified Superintendent.

Printing a Board Appointment Application from the Delaware County website at http://www.co.delaware.oh.us/hr/board/board.asp and completing it and faxing it to 740-833-2099, or mailing it back to the address listed above.
Completed Board Appointment applications must be returned to the Delaware County Commissioners Office by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
