BV boys roll to another key win

Leo Wells rolled a 415 series and Dawson Munday added games of 213 and 198 to help the Buckeye Valley boys bowling team stay perfect with a 2,249-2,227 win over Jonathan Alder Monday afternoon.

“This is a big win for the boys,” BV coach Madonna Wells said. “Jonathan Alder is always a good team, and to get this win under your belt is nice.”

Other Baron standouts included Jimmy Davis, who finished with games of 197 and 190; Dawson Worl, who had games of 193 and 160; and Jacob Moeslein, who had a 179.

The win wasn’t perfect, but it was well earned.

“The boys had to pull together with just a 14-pin lead going into bakers,” Madonna Wells said. “We still need to focus on making spares. We always talk about how they win championships. They also win close matches.”

The Pioneers continued their hot start to the season, picking up their second win in as many outings Monday afternoon.

Freshman Kirk Glori led the way with games of 197 and 191. Nick Baumeyer was also steady, rolling games of 157 and 167.

Buckeye Valley couldn’t climb out of an early hole, but battled through Monday’s 2,004-1,849 loss to Jonathan Alder.

“The girls lost, but they lost to a great team and didn’t quit when they were down,” Madonna Wells said. “They fought to the end and had a great set of baker games. This is what you love to see as a coach: never give up.”

Bree Hall led the Barons with games of 152 and 168. Other top BV contributors included Tara McClure, who finished with a 309 series; and Sydney Lenart, who rolled a 305 series.

Next up, BV will take on Pleasant Thursday afternoon.

SarahKate Palmer had games of 177 and 160 to lead the Pioneers with a team-high series of 337, but it wasn’t quite enough to get past the Warriors Monday afternoon.

Heather Gabele, who closed with a 309 series, was also solid for Orange.

The Pioneers return to action today against Olentangy.
