First Thursday Noontime Recital Series features organist


The First Thursday Noontime Recital Series sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church will feature Asbury Organist and Director of Music, Sally Casto. The recital will be Thursday, Feb. 2 at 12:15 p.m.

For her recital, Casto will perform a composition by local composer Ted McGraner, as well as works by John LaMontaine and Richard Baker. The recital will conclude with the Sonata I in f minor by Felix Mendelssohn.

Sally Casto has been organist at Asbury since 1975. In 2004, she founded the Asbury Organ Academy, an instructional program for training young organists. Currently there are seven young organ students who are preparing to master the “King of Instruments”.

There is no admission charge for the recital. As always, tables will be set and beverages provided for those who with to enjoy lunch during the recital. Asbury is located at 55 W. Lincoln Ave. in Delaware. The church is handicapped accessible from its rear parking lot entrance.
