Join Heart of Ohio March for Climate

Everyone concerned about the threat of climate change is invited to join the “Heart of Ohio March for Climate” this Saturday.

After gathering at 10 a.m. at Bicentennial Park in Delaware (next to the Wilbur Bills fire station) we will take a walking route to the County Courthouse for a rally from 11 a.m. to noon, with music and speakers.

The event will be nonpartisan, welcoming supporters from all across the political spectrum. The march will be respectful of elected officials and community leaders of all parties because, encouraged by citizen support, they could be crucial in protecting the earth’s climate.

We invite them to join us.

For parking, along with on-street spots, Ohio Wesleyan University has generously made available its parking lots on the north side of Park Avenue and at the Roy Rike soccer field to the west on Park Ave. For those attending the rally only, parking will be available at the Zion UCC lot on Central Avenue as well as on-street.

We hope that the mighty voice of the Heart of Ohio will reach far beyond where we will be standing — to Columbus and Congress, and especially to the current administration in Washington, which plans very troubling steps that will set back the fight against climate change in ways that may well be irreversible.

Along with people gathering all over the country, we will come together to be heard. We invite concerned citizens to join us.
