The Big Walnut softball team finished with a flourish, scoring three times in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 4-3 walk-off win over visiting Groveport Wednesday in Sunbury.

Jojo Lucas started the rally with a walk. Karley Becker reached on an error a batter later, putting runners on the corners with one out, Autumn Imhoff singled home Lucas and Maggie Blackburn singled home Becker to even things 3-3.

Hailey Krinn then worked a walk to load the bases before Alyssa Tarney singled to center to chase home courtesy runner Cassidy Joseph with the game-winning run.

Imhoff picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs — none of which were earned — on five hits.

The win bumped the Golden Eagles’ record to 17-3. The first-place Cruisers, meanwhile, lost for the first time in league play all season.

Delaware Hayes 6, Olentangy Berlin 0

Chloe Barton homered, Bobbi Adams drove in a pair and Alex Armstrong had a couple hits to lead the Pacers to a league win over the visiting Bears Wednesday in Delaware.

Oh, and Haley Osborne pitched pretty well, too. She allowed just three hits while striking out nine in the complete-game win.

Berlin was led by Allie Burkhart, who had two of the team’s three hits.

Buckeye Valley 10, Shelby 5

The Barons scored six runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take control on the way to an MOAC win over host Shelby Wednesday afternoon.

Anika Craft and Nina Peak had three hits apiece while Lexi Richardson homered and drove in three in the win. Rylee George also knocked in three runs for BV.

Olivia Schick earned the win in the circle, allowing five runs on 12 hits in 5.2 innings of action.

Olentangy Liberty 11, Olentangy 7

The Patriots scored four times in the sixth and again in the seventh to flip a one-run deficit into a league win over the Braves Wednesday in Lewis Center.

Sammy Leonhardt and Arica Flaugher had three hits apiece in the win while Dani Schoenly had three RBI.

Ana Oliverio had two RBI for Olentangy while Brooke Wells finished with a team-best two hits.

Westerville North 8, Olentangy Orange 1

The host Warriors scored all eight of their runs in the final three innings to roll to a league win over the Pioneers Wednesday in Westerville.

Alli Rubal led Orange with a pair of hits while Audrey Hollerich finished 3-for-4 with four RBI for North.

BASEBALL

Adam Wallace allowed just three hits, but host Hilliard Darby made them count en route to a 3-1 OCC win over visiting Olentangy Berlin Wednesday afternoon.

The Bears broke the scoring seal with a run in the first before Darby scored two in the fourth to take the lead for good.

Zach Martin and Jacob Lewis led Berlin with two hits apiece.

Canal Winchester 12, Big Walnut 2, 6 inn.

The Indians scored five times in the first to set the tone on the way to a lopsided league win over the host Golden Eagles Wednesday in Sunbury.

Worthington Kilbourne 7, Delaware Hayes 6

The Pacers started well, jumping out to a 6-0 lead, but the host Wolves scored seven unanswered, including six in the fifth inning alone, to escape with a league win Wednesday in Worthington.

Ethan Hazelton had two hits, an RBI and a run scored to lead Hayes at the plate.

BOYS TENNIS

Big Walnut won on a pair of singles courts and both doubles courts to notch a 4-1 win over host Buckeye Valley Wednesday afternoon.

Golden Eagle winners included Matt Pushkin (4-6, 6-3, 1-0 at second singles), Grant Mudre (6-2, 6-0 at third singles), Sebastian Kirkpatrick and Charlie Jaeger (6-4, 6-4 at first doubles) and Jake Ambrose and Andrew Grubb (7-6, 4-6, 1-0) at second doubles).

Kyle Baseman had BV’s lone win (6-2, 6-0 at first singles).

Delaware Hayes 4, DeSales 1

The Pacers swept the singles courts and split at doubles to secure a non-league win over the Stallions Wednesday afternoon.

Hayes winners included Kyle Klumpp (6-1, 6-2 at first singles), Sam Bonofiglio (6-0, 6-0 at second singles), Eric Puthoff (6-0, 6-0 at third singles) and the duo of Will Fogle and Ryder Kardas (6-2, 6-3 at first doubles).
