Olentangy Orange junior Skylar Dean and Olentangy sophomore Meadow Tian put together a pair of strong showings at Friday and Saturday’s Division I girls state golf championship, finishing with two-day totals of 143 and 145, respectively.

Dean’s effort on the always-challenging OSU Gray Course, which featured a 71 on the first day and a 72 on the second, was good enough to tie for second among individuals. Dublin Jerome’s Alexa Prettyman, Medina Highland’s Isabella Goyette and Perrysburg’s Sydney Deal also shot 143s.

Tian was a couple strokes back in sixth place when all was said and done, coupling rounds of 73 and 72.

Jerome won the team title with a two-day total of 597 while Magnificat and New Albany smoothed out the top three with 608s.

The Eagles’ Mia Hammond nabbed top individual honors, carding a combined 136.

On the boys’ side, Olentangy Liberty finished third in the state behind a handful of strong showings on the OSU Scarlet Course. Sophomore Jackson Harris led the charge with a combined 153 while junior Noah Mulford, who followed up an 80 on the first day with a strong 74 on the second, closed 19th overall with a 154.
