The Ohio Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women announce that Melissa Riggins has been elected president of The Delaware County Republican Women’s Club.
At a recent OFRW statewide event, held in South Euclid, the official pin for presidents was presented to Riggins by OFRW President Lyn Bliss and NFRW District 8 Director Ann Schockett.
“I am excited about working with Melissa as she leads the club forward, supporting the values and issues of the Republican Party,” said Lyn Bliss, OFRW president. “I look forward to seeing her accomplish both the OFRW’s and the club’s objectives through participation, volunteerism and outreach at community events. With her leadership, I expect to see the club membership grow.”
Riggins said, “It is an honor and a privilege to have been selected by The Delaware County Republican Women’s Club members to serve as their president. The members with whom I will be serving are an outstanding collection of talented and knowledgeable ladies. I look forward to working with them and with the OFRW.”
Founded in 1938, the NFRW represents the party that first made it possible for women to vote in the U.S. Today, the NFRW works to increase the effectiveness and relevance of women in the cause of good government.
The OFRW, founded in 1929, is a statewide organization of hundreds of members in constituent clubs. It is the largest, most powerful political organization in Ohio providing the avenue for women to influence policy, develop candidates, and elect the leaders of Ohio.
