Delaware police report:

A homeless man said he was assaulted by another homeless man while he was asleep at the Roy Rike Field near Park Avenue Friday about 4 a.m.. The man said he was asleep on a bench in the gazebo when he was assaulted. Police have a suspect and are investigating.

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a gas station in the 400 block of South Sandusky Street Friday about 2:25 a.m. Meanwhile, police received a call about a person walking in the northbound lanes of traffic of Columbus Pike. Police said the man, 32, was walking in the middle of the road. After speaking to the man, police determined he was a suspect in the gas station burglary and arrested him. He was charged with criminal damaging and taken to the Delaware County Jail.

Food was stolen from a home on Ross Street Thursday afternoon. Police say they have a suspect.
