Trafficking trial underway

The trial of three Chinese people accused of human trafficking began Tuesday in Delaware County Common Pleas Court. Chao Xiashuang and his wife, Qing Xu, were photographed during a break in jury selection Tuesday afternoon. The couple, along with Qing Xu’s sister, Estella, is facing human trafficking charges. The trio does not speak English and each will require an interpreter for the duration of the trial. Prosecutors estimate the trial could take more than a week. They stand accused of operating massage parlors in central Ohio, including one in Powell. Both employees of the parlors and clients are expected to testify.
