Orange’s girls soccer team flexed its offensive muscle Tuesday, scoring six first-half tallies — two apiece from Delaney Earl and Taylor Foreman — on the way to an impressive 8-0 OCC-Capital Division win over visiting Hayes.
Orange (3-2-2) fired its first shot on goal less than 30 seconds into the action. It sailed high and wide, but was a sign of things to come.
Earl broke the scoring seal at the 32:27 mark of the first half, chipping a shot over Hayes keeper Ahdrin Bordner and into the back of the net. The two collided on the play, injuring Bordner and ending her night almost as soon as it started.
Helen Thomson entered as her replacement in the Delaware goal, and started with a solid save after Earl settled a corner kick in the box, but the pressure just kept coming.
Brynna Johnson made it 2-0 midway through the first half, firing a feed from Mikaela Neil into the back of the net, and Camryn Thompson scored on a cross by Foreman to make it 3-0 7:34 before the break.
The Pioneers really poured it on in the half’s final three minutes. Earl scored an unassisted goal with 2:43 to go, Foreman made it 5-0 with 2:15 to go, then scored again on a breakaway just 2.7 seconds before the buzzer.
Johnson scored a pair of second-half tallies to account for the final margin while Orange keeper Hannah Sargent finished with two saves.
Thomson had a team-best five saves for the Pacers while Bordner and Chloe Vessels collected one apiece.

VOLLEYBALL
Delaware Christian defeated host Madison Christian 25-17, 25-17, 25-11 Tuesday, taking over sole possession of first place in the process.
Erin McCullough led the Eagles (10-3, 5-0 MOCAL) with 15 digs, 10 kills and eight aces. Liz Sullivan was also solid, finishing with eight kills, while Brianna Blackburn ran the offense with 25 assists.
Olentangy 3, Hilliard Davidson 0
Olentangy swept away host Hilliard Davidson Tuesday, winning the non-league showdown in three sets.
The Braves (6-3, 4-1 OCC) won the first set 25-14 before sealing the deal with wins of 25-11 and 25-18.
Olivia Margolies and Sarah Hansel led the attack with nine kills apiece. Sophie Fritz, meanwhile, finished with team-highs in assists (20), digs (12) and aces (6).
Also: River Valley 3, Buckeye Valley 0; Orange 3, Hilliard Bradley 0.
TENNIS
Hayes handled its business Tuesday on the road, handling host Westerville South 4-1.
Pacer winners included Jillian Goulet (6-4, 6-2 at second singles), Mallory Hackett (6-4, 6-1 at third singles), Kara Wegmiller and Kelsey Knodell (3-6, 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles), and the duo of Emily Miklas and Paris Knipp (6-4, 6-3 at second doubles).
Hayes improved to 9-6 with the win.
Watkins Memorial 3, Big Walnut 2
Macie Kercsmar nabbed a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles and Lexie Kirkpatrick and Abby Friend teamed up for a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles, but it wasn’t enough as the visiting Golden Eagles fell to the Warriors in non-league action Tuesday afternoon.

FROM MONDAY
The Buckeye Valley boys soccer team started both halves strong, scoring in the first 10 minutes of each on the way to a solid 3-1 MOAC win over host River Valley Monday evening.
The Barons opened the scoring when Sam Scharff found the back of the net off a feed from Mitch Rotondo just three minutes into the action.
Chase Workman answered for the Vikings, beating BV keeper Caleb King off a corner kick in the ninth minute, but the Barons took control after that.
“I think we sat back a bit after the early goal,” Buckeye Valley coach Eric Staley said. “Caleb had to make a save on a breakaway, then Workman got his goal, but we played our game after that and the defense limited their chances. We generated a lot of chances; we just need to put them on frame.”
The two the Barons did put on frame after River Valley’s equalizer — goals by Anthony Seliskar off a corner kick in the 29th minute and Brennan Perrine in the 48th — proved more than enough, though.
King finished with two saves in the BV goal while A.J. Roth had seven saves for River Valley.
FIELD HOCKEY
Another game, another shutout win for the Patriots, who improved to 6-0 with a 6-0 win over the host Braves Monday in Lewis Center.
Karri Stadulis scored a pair of goals in the win while Claire Buckey, Sydney Paris, Gwen Whitfield and Olivia Susi smoothed out the scoring summary.
Katie Flanagan, who still hasn’t surrendered a goal all season, finished with one save in the Liberty crease.
Alex Hummer stopped nine shots for Olentangy.
