A screening of a documentary episode “The New Latinos” will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Strand Theatre, 28 E. Winter St.

Admission is free.

Juan Armando Rojas, professor at Ohio Wesleyan University, and Jennifer Rathbun, associate professor at Ashland University, will lead a discussion after the screening. Audience members will be encouraged to share their stories.

The episode is part of the 2013 PBS documentary “Latino Americans.” The screening is made possible from the “Latino Americans: 500 Years of History” grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.

“Latino Americans” chronicles the rich and varied history of Latinos who have helped shaped our nation and have become the largest minority in the United States, according to Delaware County District Library officials.

A second documentary episode, “Peril and Promise,” will be shown at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Strand Theatre. Admission is free and discussion will follow the screening.
