Buckeye Valley High School student Melissa Leon (seated) looks on in shock as one of her braids is shown to her during the Wigs for Kids event at J. Bentley Studio and Spa in Powell. It’s the second year that BVHS students have participated in the event, according to art teacher Sophie Stump. She said the students made the hair donations in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to honor fellow student Anna Cox, who lost her hair last year fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Stump said Cox is now cancer-free.
