Ohio Wesleyan University ranks 14th in the latest survey to come down the digital pike.
Niche.com has released its list of the Top 50 Best Colleges in Ohio.
Factors considered in the survey include the quality of the academic environment and professors, overall value (average loan amount, alumni earnings, student opinion), student life, diversity, athletics, campus quality, local area (rent, access to amenities) and safety (campus and local area crime rates, health). The list was limited to four-year colleges and universities.
Thirty-seven of the 1,675 Ohio Wesleyan students responded to the survey regarding their overall experience. OWU received B-plus grades from Niche.com in the following categories: academics, diversity and student life.
The university was awarded B grades for value, professors, athletics and campus quality. The local area grade was B-minus. In the safety category, the university received a C-minus from those who took the survey.
Ohio State University ranks No. 1 on the list. The rest of the top 10 includes, in order, Case Western Reserve University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, University of Dayton, Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, College of Wooster, Xavier University and Marietta College.
Settling in places 11-13 are Denison University, John Carroll University and Ohio University. Following Ohio Wesleyan in places 15-20 are Cedarville University, University of Mount Union, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio Northern University, Wittenberg University and Otterbein University.
Nationally, Ohio State is ranked 60th. Case Western Reserve is 84th. Kenyon ranks 91st and Oberlin checks in at 96th.
The bottom five institutions of higher education in Ohio, according to Niche.com, are Muskingum University, Urbana University, University of Rio Grande, Shawnee State University and Central State University.
