Condit Presbyterian Church provides members of the community with a Christmas program each year. However, this year a special event has been added to the traditional celebration.

The Rev. Ann Malick will be installed as Condit Presbyterian’s new pastor at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, immediately preceding the annual Christmas program for children.

Scioto Valley Presbytery will send a delegation to Trenton Township to install Malick as the congregation’s new pastor. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.

At 6 p.m. the same day, Condit Presbyterian will hold its annual Christmas program for families and extended families.

“Inside the Gothic church, complete with flying buttresses, the atmosphere becomes magical as we share the birth of Jesus Christ at this time of the year,” said Polly Horn, Condit Presbyterian’s media manager. “Music and recitations from different age groups will create a seasonal blend of the sacred and the secular.”

Horn said the congregation will come together on Christmas Eve for a traditional candlelight celebration.

“Members of the Condit Presbyterian Church congregation have worshiped together for 179 years, since the fellowship’s founding in the Van Dorn Tavern in 1836,” Horn said. “We’ve always had an open door, and everyone is invited to our church in the country for these special holiday services.”

Condit Presbyterian Church is 15102 Hartford Road.
