Delaware police report:

A man climbed into a police cruiser on New Year’s Eve in the first block of Sandusky Street. The man told police he just wanted to thank them. However, officers said the man was intoxicated and was unable to care for himself. When he declined to call someone to pick him up, police arrested him on a disorderly conduct charge and placed him in the city jail until he was sober.

A drunken woman went to an acquaintance’s Ohio Street home Friday about 1 a.m. without permission. The residents wanted the woman to leave but she refused. Police found the woman was too intoxicated to care for herself and took her into custody for disorderly conduct. She was held at the city jail until sober.

A 13-year-old fled his Seatrain Drive home when his grandmother asked if he had been drinking Friday afternoon. The grandmother called police and filed a missing-person report but the boy returned home later that day. No charges were filed.
