FFA ag sales team takes 1st in district

Members of the Big Walnut/DACC FFA ag sales team placed first at the District 6 Agricultural Sales Career Development event Feb. 11 at Ridgedale High School, earning the right to compete in the state contest for the first time.

As individuals, Alex Brown placed first, Gabby Adair placed second, Lex Marvin placed sixth, Evan Thiergartner placed 12th and Ben Kessler was the alternate.

In the contest, students completed an online test, presented a sales presentation about Christmas trees and completed an “irate customer” scenario.

The contest was open to 38 schools with FFA programs in District 6. Seven schools competed in the contest.

District 6 includes all of Delaware, Madison, Clark, Champaign, Logan, Union and Marion counties, and parts of Morrow and Hardin counties.

The Big Walnut/DACC FFA ag sales team will compete in the state contest on Saturday, March 5.
