The 2016 Parade of Homes has been moved from July to Sept. 3-18, the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio announced this week.
BIA officials said the Parade date was moved back two months so the builders could finish the homes.
“The incredible size and intricacy of the homes, coupled with elaborate outdoor living spaces, means our builders needed additional time to complete their homes and landscapes,” said BIA executive director Jim Hilz. Last year, bad weather delayed the Parade until September, but the BIA had originally moved this year’s event back to the summer, because it didn’t want to compete with fall school and Ohio State events.
The 2016 Parade will be the largest since 2005, Hilz said.
The Parade is once again in Delaware County, this time in the new Verona subdivision in Powell. In April 2015, the former Shamrock Golf Club was annexed into Powell from Liberty Township. The 113.5-acre Vince Romanelli residential development will ultimately feature 112 single-family homes and 54 patio homes.
For this year’s Parade, 16 builders will build homes ranging in price from $700,000 to more than $1 million; each filled with the latest ideas in home decor, amenities and trends. The builders are: 3 Pillar Homes; Bob Webb Homes; Compass Homes; Coppertree Homes; Dani Homes; M/I Homes; Manor Homes; Memmer Homes; New England Homes; P&D Builders; Pulte Homes; Rockford Homes; Romanelli & Hughes; Sierra Custom Homes; Trinity Homes; and Weaver Custom Homes.
“Verona boasts sprawling green space for active recreation, which offers buyers a beautiful neighborhood with expansive open spaces and an attractive approach from Powell Road and Seldom Seen Road,” the BIA said in a prepared statement. “Verona is just minutes from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and the area’s top golf courses, including Muirfield Village. The community is easily accessible to Polaris, one of central Ohio’s major job and development centers.”
Verona is in the Olentangy Local School District.
