London, Ohio-based Royal Cabinets is opening a second location at 38 S. Sandusky St. in Delaware.

Company officials say they are excited about opening in Delaware and see a niche they can fill.

“We see the growth in Delaware and we want to contribute to that,” said Josh Dickens, manager of Royal Cabinets. “We’re looking forward to having a grand opening soon.”

Royal Cabinets opened as a business in the London area 28 years ago and has seen steady growth throughout that time.

The company remodels kitchens, bathrooms and closets. It is a dealer and installer for KraftMaid, Merillat and Corian. The company custom-builds solid surface counter tops from quartz and granite.

Dale Kreiner, the sole proprietor of Royal Cabinets, said he is looking forward to being a part of the Delaware community and to be closer to family.

Kreiner and his wife have purchased a house here. They have two children who both live in Delaware and are looking to be closer to them. For now they spend their weekends in Delaware, but they are looking to move here as permanent residents. “As soon as the house in London sells, we will be moving to Delaware,” he said.

Dickens moved his family to Delaware in 2007 when his wife started teaching in the Big Walnut School District. They live in town, not far from the new showroom. They say they love the family-friendly downtown. “Delaware is awesome,” Dickens said. “We love the feel of the sleepy little town.”

Kreiner said he is hoping to fill the need for a cabinet supplier and installer in the Delaware area. He decided to open a showroom in Delaware after taking a look around. “I looked around and didn’t see much in cabinets,” Kreiner said.

Dickens is Kreiner’s son-in-law and said he would like to take over Royal Cabinets someday.

Kreiner is looking forward to that day. “It’s nice to have someone to continue the business,” Kreiner said. “I’m also looking for a little time off.”

Royal Cabinets will continue to produce cabinets from its warehouse and shop location in London. The Delaware showroom is now open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
