The city of Delaware Planning and Community Development Director Dave Efland said he was excited to see 80 percent of development project near completion with the remainder on the horizon.
The Planning Commission approved the final subdivision plat for the remaining two sections of the Lantern Phase II development consisting of the remaining 38 acres, which includes 80 single-family home lots.
The plats will appear again on the City Council agenda at an upcoming meeting.
“We’re excited to be part of this community,” said Terry Andrews of Westport Homes, project developer.
The sections are located north of Silversmith Lane.
In other business, the commission approved two requests for final development plan exemptions.
Georgetown Properties wants to build a one-story maintenance building addition to northern portion of its apartment complex, 80 Georgetown Drive, over 0.77 acres. The 840-square-foot addition would include a new driveway to connect the existing parking lot. Playground equipment in that area would be relocated and replaced between buildings, 60 and 72 Georgetown Drive.
Hamilton Parker Co. wants to build a 4,000-square-foot storage structure at 188 E. William St. on 2.627 acres. A combined preliminary and final development plan approved in 2001 allowed construction of a new warehouse at the site. The warehouse would be used to store materials.
The commission will meet again on Oct. 19.
