Homeownership info from Habitat

Habitat for Humanity of Delaware & Union Counties will hold a homeownership informational meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Delaware Township Hall. Delaware city offices closed on Jug Day

City of Delaware offices will close at noon on Thursday, Sept. 21 for the Little Brown Jug at the Delaware County Fair. Refuse collection will operate on an accelerated schedule that morning. For information about trash collection, call 740-203-1810.

Artists Guild meets Monday

The first meeting of the new season for the Delaware Artists Guild will be Monday, Sept. 25 at the Richard M. Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky Street. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. The speaker is Erin Fletcher, the new director of the Ross Art Museum.

Book sale at the library

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library Bargain Book Sale is scheduled for Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 at the Delaware Main Branch, 88 Winter St., Delaware. The sale will be held in the garage behind the library. Following is the schedule: Friday, Sept. 29, 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 1, noon to 3 p.m. Bring a Friends of the Library bag and fill it with books for $8. Buy a Friends bag and fill it with books for $12. Credit cards will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Delaware County Library.

Cruise-in with Sunbury Lions

The 28th annual Sunbury Lions Country Cruise-In is planned for Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Kroger Plaza in Sunbury. Registration begins at 9 a.m. A church service will be held at 10 a.m. Vehicle judging begins at 1 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Sunbury Lions Club. For information, visit

Harvest Fair at Stratford Eco Center

The Stratford Ecological Center Harvest Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to climb on a tractor, paint your face, feed the chickens, ride a horse-drawn wagon, and hike the trails. Voter registration day Sept. 26

The League of Women Voters of Delaware County will host a voter registration day on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Columbus State Community College’s Delaware Campus, 5100 Cornerstone Drive. League members will assist with registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deadline to register is Oct. 10. Early voting in Ohio begins Oct. 11. Election Day is Nov. 7.

Powell Oktoberfest is coming

Powell Oktoberfest is planned for Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 at Village Green Park, 47 Hall Street. The festival is open from 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 29, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sept. 30. Friday night activities feature an Ohio craft beer, wine and cheese tasting event. German food, beer, wine, cornhole tournaments, and live music can be enjoyed on Saturday. Powell Oktoberfest is hosted by the Olentangy Rotary Club. For information, visit
