The City of Delaware Police Department is investigating a knife altercation that occurred at an apartment in the Troy Farms complex on the northwest side of the city early Wednesday morning.
Police reported Wednesday that they had been summoned to Grady Memorial Hospital at approximately 2:45 a.m. Wednesday after two individuals presented with knife wounds at the emergency department.
Police report they began an investigation at the hospital and learned an altercation had occurred at an apartment on Saddlebrook Court. Officers began investigating at the scene and were investigating throughout the day Wednesday.
City of Delaware Police Department Capt. Adam Moore said Wednesday afternoon that police believe there were multiple individuals present at the time of the altercation, and law enforcement is working to identify and speak to them. Moore added police served warrants Wednesday, and the case remains an active investigation.
Moore said the incident is believed to have taken place across multiple locations, including an apartment and parking lot on Saddlebrook Court. He added the injured individuals were transferred to hospitals in Columbus, and the wounds were serious but not life threatening.
Delaware police reported that “based on the known information, this incident is believed to be isolated and there is not a public safety risk.”
No charges had been filed Wednesday afternoon. Police have not released the names of the individuals involved in the altercation.
