Delaware County grand jury indicts Delaware man on rape charges

A Delaware man was indicted by a Delaware County grand jury on three counts of rape and a charge of attempted felonious assault in connection with an incident that occurred in January.

Derek W. Keeran, of 70 Hill St., Delaware, was charged with three counts of rape, which are first-degree felonies, and attempted felonious assault, a second-degree felony. An arraignment in Delaware County Common Pleas Court has not yet been scheduled.

Court documents indicate that on Jan. 31 Keeran allegedly forced a woman to have sex three times. Court documents also allege he engaged in conduct that, if successful, would have constituted felonious assault.

A summons to appear in court was issued Friday.

Other individuals indicted by the grand jury include:

• Michael Hart, of 927 Havens Road, Delaware, on two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, second-degree felonies; illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a second-degree felony; and two counts of attempted pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, two third-degree felonies. A court date has not yet been scheduled.

• Jeffrey A. Johns, of 577 South Section Line Road, Delaware, on one charge of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; two counts of carrying concealed weapons, fourth-degree felonies; three felony counts of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle; and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first-degree misdemeanors. A court date has not yet been scheduled.

• Trey Michael Bennett, 27, of Westerville, indicted Wednesday on a charge of theft, a fourth-degree felony. He was arraigned Friday and a trial was set for May 12.

• Tiffany R. Howard, 19, of Marengo, on a charge of burglary and a charge of felonious assault, second-degree felonies. An arraignment has been set for May 20 at 9:45 a.m.

• Michael L. Kane, of Columbus, on a charge of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. An arraignment has been set for May 20 at 10 a.m.

• Justin K. Counts, of Marengo, on a charge of theft and seven counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies. An arraignment has been set for June 3 at 8:30 a.m.

• Christina A. Collins, of Lewis Center, on a charge of theft, a fifth-degree felony. An arraignment has been set for June 3 at 8:45 a.m.

• Scott W. Helm, at large, on two counts of theft, fifth-degree felonies. An arraignment has been set for June 3 at 9 a.m.

• Craig A. Lucas, of 73 Toledo St., Delaware, on a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and a charge of assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. An arraignment has been set for June 3 at 9:15 a.m.

• Paul Samuel Nord, 40, of Delaware, on two counts of receiving stolen property and a charge of obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor. A court date has not yet been scheduled.

• Paigel N. Hamm, 21, of Sunbury, on five felony counts of theft a charge of identity fraud, a fifth-degree felony. A court date has not yet been scheduled.

• Anthony Earl Adams, 29, of Columbus, on a charge of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. An arraignment has not been scheduled.

• Constance N. Morrow, 26, of 143 N. Liberty St., Delaware, on a charge of forgery, a fourth-degree felony.
