Seniors at Hayes High School picked up their caps and gowns Tuesday as school officials prepare for the upcoming commencement ceremony scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 19.

SUNBURY — The Big Walnut Local School District recently changed some of its bus routes.

Hayes High School finished its last “Power Hour” after-school tutoring program of the year Thursday, and Principal Ric Stranges said he plans to continue the program next year.

Last week, students at Buckeye Valley East Elementary were visited by an author and illustrator who helped them draw the characters from his books.

Marietta College announces dean’s list

The Olentangy Local School District (OLSD) is set to expand its Olentangy Academy building, 7774 Graphics Way in Lewis Center, to pave the way for the growth of its Academy for Community Transition (ACT) program. During last week’s meeting of the Olentangy Schools Board of Education, a contract with Fanning Howey was approved in the amount of $302,116 for architectural design work for the project.

The nurse at Dempsey Middle School was recently named the Ohio Association of School Nurses (OASN) 2023 School Nurse of the Year.

On Friday, students at Conger Elementary took a break from class and gathered in the gym to watch certain students take turns throwing pies at Principal Mary Krell.
