DCHS wins statewide award
The Delaware County Historical received a statewide award from the Ohio Local History Alliance at a luncheon on Oct. 7 during the OLHA Annual Meeting. The outstanding achievement recognition was given for the DCHS exhibit The Journey to Delaware County, located in the Meeker Homestead Museum at 2690 Stratford Road in Delaware. The exhibit was judged on its historical significance, factual and contextual accuracy, organization and design.
Former Zoo CFO pleads guilty
A former Columbus Zoo and Aquarium chief financial officer pleaded guilty to 14 felony charges Thursday in Delaware County Common Pleas Court in connection with a fraud case worth millions of dollars.

Two candidates are vying to represent Delaware’s Second Ward on City Council for the next four years. Adam Haynes has served in the role since being appointed to fulfill the remaining term of Lisa Keller, who resigned last November. He is being opposed by Leslie Joiner, who is seeking election for the first time.
Zoo program recognized with national award
POWELL — The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recently announced that the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium received a Significant Achievement recognition in its Education Award for the Teen Eco Summit. The AZA Education Award recognizes outstanding achievement in educational program design, judging programs on their ability to promote conservation knowledge, attitudes and behavior, show innovation, and measure success.
